Dr. Montoneri's website

Greetings. I'm Dr. Bernard Montoneri, an Associate Professor at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. I was a teacher for almost 25 years and I am currently doing research in many fields, including history, literature, translation, teaching and learning assessment, Data Envelopment Analysis, social media, ethics and plagiarism, fake news, Chinese medicine, Qigong, and Buddhism. I have 8 university diplomas and around 70 publications, including conference papers, journal papers, books, book chapters and I am an editor. I co-founded the IAFOR Journal of Education which is now indexed in Scopus. I was the editor-in-chief until December 2017. I am since September 2019 the editor-in-chief of the Scopus indexed IAFOR Journal of Literature and Librarianship. I was also a guest editor for the IAFOR Journal of Language Learning. I have been a reviewer for top academic journals for many years.

This is my second website (opened in April 2020). The first one is here, the third one there. If you enjoy photography, welcome to have a look at my pics (1, 2). By the way, the picture at the top of this page is a temple in Kyoto, Japan.

I wrote a book chapter on fake news, welcome to read, it is published here: Montoneri, B. (2020). Fake News and Fake Research, from the Cave to the Light: Critical reflection and Literature Review. In B. Montoneri (Ed.), Academic Misconduct and Plagiarism: Case Studies from Universities around the World (Chapter 9). USA: Lexington Books.

As I wrote in the above coming publication, one of my favorite quotes is without a doubt Merlin’s answer to King Arthur in the movie Excalibur (1981), the best adaptation of Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur (1485):

Arthur: “Which is the greatest quality of knighthood? Courage? Compassion? Loyalty? Humility? What do you say, Merlin?” [...]

Merlin: “All right, then. Truth. That’s it, yes, it must be truth, above all. When a man lies he murders some part of the world. You should know that.”
